Celebrating Mexican Culture

As I pondered the design for some decorative plates in my kitchen using vinyl, I was inspired by the vibrant Mexican culture that enriched my teenage years. The bright colors, intricate designs, and lively sayings seemed perfect for creating a welcoming kitchen atmosphere that celebrates the joy and warmth of Mexican traditions. Plus, since Mexican cuisine is my absolute favorite, it felt right to infuse my kitchen with an aesthetic that reflects my passion for both the food and the culture.

Growing up as a teen, I was always surrounded by the vivid hues of traditional Mexican pottery, the intricate patterns of woven textiles, and the cheerful, expressive phrases that pepper everyday conversation. These memories hold a special place in my heart, and I wanted my kitchen to echo those experiences. So, I set out to design decorative plates that would bring a piece of that vibrant culture into my home.

To gather ideas, I reached out to friends and family, asking them to share their favorite Spanish sayings. Their responses were delightful, filled with humor, wisdom, and the kind of warmth that makes a house feel like a home. Additionally, I scoured the internet for inspiration, diving into the rich tapestry of Mexican art and language. It was during this exploration that I stumbled upon the idea of incorporating Spanish slang into my t-shirt designs.

I realized that Spanish slang, with its playful and expressive nature, would not only look fantastic on kitchen decor but also on t-shirts. The idea sparked a new creative venture, and that’s how my line of shirts was born. Each shirt features a unique saying, celebrating the charm and character of the language in a fun and fashionable way.
