Before Thanksgiving, I told my daughter there were no food rules this year. She walked into the holiday almost anxiety free, chose corn casserole and cookies, and had her happiest Thanksgiving ever. I am unlearning old expectations and embracing holiday food freedom because the memories matter more than the menu.
